EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — An Everett man with 16 felony convictions is going to prison for the rest of his life.

Forty-year-old Jerry A. Perkins was convicted last month of assault for a beating in November. That was his third strike under Washington’s three-strikes law, and he was sentenced Wednesday in Snohomish County Superior Court.

The Daily Herald reports Perkins has a record of assaults and drug convictions and at least two dozen misdemeanors. He had been released from prison in September on his previous conviction.
