SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — The Seattle Mariners’ Adam Kennedy has been charged following his January drunken driving arrest on a Southern California freeway.
Orange County district attorney’s spokeswoman Farrah Emami says Kennedy was charged Wednesday with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and a misdemeanor count of driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
Kennedy was arrested Jan. 26 in Newport Beach, weeks after signing a minor league contract with the Mariners.
The 35-year-old played for the Washington Nationals last year and for the Anaheim Angeles from 2000 through 2006.
He’s scheduled to be arraigned on June 21.
