SEATTLE (AP) — A 24-year-old man and two teens have been charged with robbery and burglary in a takeover robbery of a West Seattle marijuana dispensary.

Seattle police say the three entered the dispensary last Saturday evening, pulled out handguns and tied up three employees and two customers. The robbers took the victims’ wallets and the store’s marijuana.

The Seattle Times reports that two handguns were recovered, as well as the wallets, money and marijuana.

King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg said Thursday the increasing number of medical marijuana dispensaries makes them targets for violence. He urged legislative policy makers to establish clear guidelines for medical marijuana. Satterberg says if such dispensaries are to be permitted, they should operate with strict security requirements to protect customers — and be located outside of residential areas to protect neighborhoods.
