SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Tsung-Hsien Chang scored a career-high 43 points and BYU-Hawaii upset top-seeded West Liberty 110-101 on Thursday night to advance to the NCAA Division II championship game.
Chang hit 14 of his 17 shots, including seven 3-pointers. Jake Dastrup added 18 points for the Seasiders (22-8), who went on a 9-0 run after the game was tied at 97 to secure the win.
Corey Pelle scored 32 points to lead West Liberty, which finishes the season at 33-1. Barry Shetzer added 23 points.
BYU-Hawaii will play Bellarmine University for the national title on Saturday. The Knights (32-2) beat Minnesota State-Mankato 81-74 in the other semifinal.
