SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — Neftali Feliz returned to the bullpen and pitched a scoreless inning for a split squad of Texas Rangers in a 7-4 loss to the San Diego Padres on Thursday night.
Earlier in the day, the Rangers said Feliz would remain as their closer. The AL Rookie of the Year had been in the mix for a starting spot. Feliz gave up one hit while working the eighth inning.
Josh Hamilton homered for Texas. Nick Hundley hit an RBI double for the Padres.
