TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A jury in Tacoma is deliberating in the trial of a man accused in the June 2009 robbery and killing of a Loomis armored car guard at the Lakewood Walmart.
Forty-three-year-old Odies D. Walker is accused of planning the robbery. He’s charged with aggravated murder, robbery and assault charges. If convicted he faces life in prison without parole.
Walker was a former greeter at the store where Kurt Husted was shot to death during the robbery.
Walker’s girlfriend, Tonie Williams-Irby worked at the store and provided inside information. She pleaded guilty last year to second-degree murder and robbery charges. The shooter, Calvin Finley, pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and is serving a life sentence. A man who was with Finley, Marshawn Turpin, pleaded guilty to murder, assault and robbery charges.
