Kylee Tyler-Breimon and Bianka Smejakalova, Battle Ground girls tennis, posted singles victories as Battle Ground handed Union its first dual-match defeat in three seasons with a 3-2 victory.
Cheyenne Anderson and Kayla Davidson, Fort Vancouver girls track and field, each won three events as the Trappers beat R.A. Long for their first dual-meet win in more than five years.
Hunter Huddleston, Woodland baseball, allowed two runs in five innings and picked up the win as the Beavers beat Kalama 9-8. Woodland led 9-2 entering the bottom of the seventh and held on as Kalama scored six runs with two outs.
Kurt Yinger, Camas baseball, struck out seven and pitched five shutout innings in Camas’ 10-0 victory over Hudson’s Bay.
Kylee Gaspar, Mountain View softball, hit two home runs in a 13-3 win over Evergreen.
Mikaela Searight, Camas softball, was 3 for 3 with a home run and two triples, in Camas’ 10-9 win over Heritage. The Papermakers scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning for the victory. Sarah Nidick drove home the game-winning run.
Chelsea Creech, Prairie softball, got the pitching win and also hit a home run in a 10-5 win over Skyview.
Kiley Monson, La Center softball, had 28 strikeouts as the Wildcats swept a doubleheader at Stevenson. She also knocked in a total of seven runs in the 9-0 and 6-1 victories.
Tommy Thorpe, Evergreen baseball, pitched seven shutout innings for a no-decision in a Tuesday game won in eight innings by Union. A linescore in The Columbian on Wednesday included incomplete information.
