RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) — Police have arrested two Seattle men accused of stealing more than $4,000 worth of baseball bats from sporting goods stores in the Tri-Cities.

The Tri-City Herald says 26-year-old Mario R. Salazar and 25-year-old Frankie Estrada were booked Thursday into the Benton County Jail.

Police say three people were caught on a surveillance video when several hundred dollars worth of baseball bats were reported stolen Nov. 17 from the Kennewick Big 5 sporting goods store. The Richland Big 5 store reported losing more than $1,000 in bats the same day.

On Thursday, two of the three suspects entered the Kennewick Big 5 and employees recognized them. The men reportedly left without buying anything but had concealed several bats under their clothes.

The Kennewick employees warned the Richland store, and when the men showed up there they were arrested by Richland police.

Kennewick and Richland police have recovered the bats and returned them to the stores.
