LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Throngs of fans are expected to join the family and friends of hip-hop singer Nate Dogg for his funeral in Southern California.

The family of Nate Dogg — whose real name is Nathaniel Hale — has decided that the Saturday services at the Queen Mary Dome in Long Beach will not be open to the public as they had previously wanted, but they will make 1,000 tickets available to those who claim them first.

A public viewing was held Friday night, and a dinner is planned after the funeral.

Nate Dogg died at 41 on March 15 of complications from multiple strokes.

He is known for his contributions to the hip-hop songs of Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Warren G and others.
