BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) — Bellevue police have arrested a man in connection with a Friday night hit-and-run crash that killed a 77-year-old pedestrian.
The man was arrested Saturday after a Bellevue resident told investigators he had seen a car similar to the one they were seeking, parked in front of a nearby home.
While investigators were looking at a car in front of that home, the owner came out and immediately confessed. Police say he told them he was scared and drove off after hitting the woman.
The 45-year-old man has been arrested and booked into King County Jail. His name has not been released, pending charges.
Bellevue police are thanking citizens for their help in solving this case. They received several tips including partial license plate numbers.
