DALLAS (AP) — Before 6-foot-8 Brittney Griner can score for Baylor, the ball usually has already been in the hands of freshman starting point guard Odyssey Sims.

Griner is known for her blocks and dunks. But coach Kim Mulkey is quick to point out that like sophomore standout Griner, Sims was a No. 1 player in her class coming out of high school.

Sims averages 13.3 points a game, second on the team to Griner’s 22.6. Sims is from Irving MacArthur High, only a few miles from the arena where she will start for top-seeded Baylor (33-2) against Wisconsin-Green Bay (34-1) on Sunday night.

Green Bay, which has won 25 games in a row, has never previously advanced to the round of 16.
