SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) — Chris Tillman made a final bid to earn a spot in the Baltimore rotation, allowing three runs over 5 2-3 innings against the Boston Red Sox in the Orioles’ 4-3 victory Sunday.

Employing an overhauled delivery, Tillman gave up six hits and walked four. The right-hander is dueling for the third spot in the rotation against Brad Bergesen, who is recovering nicely after being struck by a line drive on the forearm on Friday.

Tillman left with the Orioles split-squad trailing 3-1, but Baltimore rallied in the eighth against Santo Luis. With the bases loaded and no outs, Matt Wieters singled in two runs and backup Ryan Adams followed with an RBI single.

J.D. Drew homered for the Red Sox, a two-run drive in the third.
