PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — Michael Young hit broken-bat single to center field in the top of the 10th inning that scored pinch-runner Endy Chavez from second base, and the Texas Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners 5-4 Sunday.

Matt Treanor’s solo homer in the top of the sixth gave the Rangers a 4-3 lead, but Seattle minor leaguer Kyle Seager led off the bottom of the eighth with a solo shot to tie it.

Young drove in three runs for the Rangers.

Chone Figgins hit a two-run homer and Ryan Langerhans had an RBI single off Rangers starter Colby Lewis.

Adrian Beltre and Young had consecutive RBI doubles off Seattle starter Luke French.

Seattle ace Felix Hernandez pitched two-hit ball over seven innings against minor leaguers earlier Sunday.
