PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities in southwest Florida are investigating a burglary at a home being rented by Tampa Bay Rays players near the stadium.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the items stolen were valued at nearly $56,000 and included jewelry, cash, computer equipment and electronics. A weapon was also taken from the home, but authorities have not said what kind of weapon it was or which player it belonged to.

The house was being rented by Evan Longoria, Reid Brignac and David Price.

The Sheriff’s Office says the players were away at a game Saturday afternoon when someone entered through an unlocked window.
