Williams puts on show at McDonald’s girls game

CHICAGO (AP) — Elizabeth Williams scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the East to a 78-66 rout of the West on Wednesday night in the McDonald’s All-American game in front of a sold out crowd at the United Center.

Williams, who has committed to Duke, won the MVP award and Tennessee recruit Ariel Massengale added 13 points for the East, which held a double-digit lead throughout the second half.

Massengale, from suburban Bolingbrook High School, made back-to-back 3-pointers early in the second half.

Brianna Banks led the West with 17 points. Banks, a Connecticut signee, scored seven straight points to get the West within 12 points at 71-59 with 4:18 left.
