A Stevenson woman remained in critical condition in a hospital’s intensive care unit Wednesday evening, one day after she allegedly failed to yield the right of way and her vehicle was struck by a pickup truck in the intersection of 45th Street and state Highway 14 in Washougal.

The two-vehicle wreck occurred at about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release issued by the Washington State Patrol.

Lindsey Kemp, 28, was southbound on 45th Street. She pulled out onto Highway 14 in front of a pickup truck and the driver couldn’t avoid hitting her Kia Sportage, a patrol report said.

Kemp was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center to be treated for multiple fractures and internal injuries.

The pickup driver, Hayden Raynor, 21, of Washougal was not reported injured. Both drivers wore seat belts and both vehicles were totaled, the bulletin said.

The cause of the wreck was Kemp’s failure to yield, according to the release. Charges are pending.
