MADRID (AP) — Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho says Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema will miss Saturday’s Spanish league match against Sporting Gijon and could skip Tuesday’s Champions League game against Tottenham.

Ronaldo leads the team with 37 goals in all competitions. He’s been hobbled by a leg injury. Benzema was injured while on international duty with France and was left off the team. So was Brazil playmaker Kaka and Brazil fullback Marcelo.

Madrid plays at Athletic Bilbao a week from Sunday. The second leg against Tottenham will be played in London on April 13.

Ronaldo has been bothered by leg problems for a month. He has failed to score for four games and skipped Portugal’s international games to recover.
