WASHINGTON (AP) — The San Francisco Giants placed third baseman Pablo Sandoval on the disabled list with a broken bone in his right wrist and called up third baseman Ryan Rohlinger from Triple-A Fresno Sunday.

The break in Sandoval’s hamate bone was revealed in an MRI Saturday morning. He is expected to miss four to six weeks.

The move Sunday was retroactive to Saturday. Sandoval was hitting .313 with five homers and 14 RBIs this season.

Rohlinger hit .194 with four home runs and 14 RBIs in 20 games with Fresno. He appeared in 12 games for the Giants last season, going 3 for 15.
