CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — The 20-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend and their 1-year-old son is scheduled to appear Monday afternoon in Benton County Circuit Court.

County District Attorney John Haroldson said he expects to file aggravated murder charges against Gustavo David Martinez Aquepuncho. He was jailed Saturday after the discovery of the bodies of 19-year-old Kelsey Rozetta Baker and their son, Theo.

Martinez Aquepuncho came to Oregon as an exchange student from Peru in his junior year at Philomath High School where he and Baker graduated in 2009. Both went on to study at Oregon State University in nearby Corvallis.

Friends said they had recently broken up in stress over work, college, childcare and whether he would be able to obtain a permanent visa.
