The Vancouver Volcanoes have shown progress this season, and they’ve only played three games.

Vancouver stormed past the USA All Stars 165-97 in International Basketball League play Sunday at Cascade College in Portland.

Vancouver (2-1) went from a 22-point opening loss at Bellingham on Friday to a 10-point win over Bellingham the next night at home to their most recent road victory.

And now they can take a breath since their next game isn’t until Saturday.

Three Volcanoes players had more than 20 points Sunday, led by Andre Murray’s 24 points. Devin Uskoski had a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Alex Tiefenthaler added 22 points.

Brad Lechtenberg had 17 points for Vancouver, Elisa Moaning had 13, Alex Hartman and Jake Carlisle each scored 12, and Kevin Bloodsaw and Lawrence Blackledge each scored 10.

Vancouver’s next home game is against the West Coast Hotshots, 7 p.m. on Saturday.
