Ore. police investigating body recovered from Columbia River




The body of a deceased male recovered early this morning from the Columbia River has been tentatively identified.

Police were alerted at about 2 a.m. to the body found near a dock next to the Interstate 5 bridge.

The body is believed to be a male in his 60s who may match a missing person case. Police are not releasing the man’s name until they can notify his family. The man’s last known address was in Portland.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol unit is leading the investigation.

Authorities believe the man’s body had been in the water for a significant length of time.
