BOSTON (AP) — Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis has been scratched from Boston’s lineup against the Los Angeles Angels because of an illness.
The Red Sox did not say what was ailing Youkilis. He was second on the team with 17 RBIs going into Tuesday night’s game.
Youkilis was replaced at third base by Jed Lowrie, who was scheduled to start at shortstop. Marco Scutaro started at short instead.
