COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) — A woman has been charged with aggravated murder in the death of an elderly neighbor who police say interrupted a burglary at her home on the southern Oregon coast.
Coos County District Attorney R. Paul Frasier said Wednesday that 48-year-old Patti Fields was also charged with burglary in the death last month of 86-year-old Leona Robison, who lived next door in Coquille.
The World newspaper in Coos Bay reports that Frasier said Robison suffered blunt force trauma to the face, head and neck and was also suffocated.
Fields has been in the Coos County jail since April 15 on an unrelated parole violation.
