PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Portland-area transit agency spokeswoman says additional security personnel have been added to the TriMet system following the death of Osama bin Laden.

Spokeswoman Mary Fetsch tells KGW-TV “we’re all on heightened alert.” She says additional uniformed employees have been looking for any suspicious behavior or items.

Another TriMet spokeswoman, Bekki Witt, was not immediately able to say late Tuesday night how many additional security personnel were involved or how long the increased presence might last. Witt says the increased security involves both buses and light-rail trains.
