TORONTO (AP) — Alan Gordon scored in the 21st minute and Toronto FC advanced to the Canadian Championship final, beating FC Edmonton 1-0 on Wednesday night.

Toronto, the Major League Soccer team that won the tournament the last two years, took the two-game series 4-0 on aggregate after winning the opener 3-0 in Edmonton on April 27.

Gordon put a left-footed shot high into the left corner past goalkeeper Lance Parker.

FC Edmonton is an expansion team in the North American Soccer League.

Toronto will face MLS rival Vancouver in the two-game final. The Whitecaps beat Montreal.
