Registration is open for this year’s “Sing 4th” auditions for high school vocalists.

Audition slots will go to the first 45 Clark County high school students who contact the Fort Vancouver National Trust at 360-992-1800 or email events@fortvan.org.

Auditions begin at 1:30 p.m. June 18. Information and a registration form are available at http://www.fortvan.org.

Judges will select 10 finalists for the Sing 4th competition presented by PEMCO Insurance Company. It begins at noon July 4 on the main stage during Independence Day at Fort Vancouver presented by Bank of America.

Sing 4th is open to Clark County students enrolled in public school or private school or who were home schooled during this school year, including Class of 2011 grads. Contestants must bring a karaoke-style CD of their musical accompaniment.

Finalists will perform the same song before celebrity judges during the Sing 4th competition. Judging will be based on originality, skill, poise, likely audience appeal and family-friendly content.

Scholarships of $1,000, $500 and $250 will go to vocalists who place first, second and third, respectively; they also will receive Beacock Music gift cards.
