PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Two men have been arrested in Washington state after what police said was a gang-related shooting that injured an Oregon teenager in Portland last month.

The Portland Police Bureau said Thursday that 20-year-old Ronny Rodriguez-Padilla and 17-year-old Leocadio Torres-Izazaga were arrested Wednesday in Vancouver, Wash.

Both were jailed and awaiting extradition to Oregon, where police say they face attempted murder charges in an April 22 shooting that wounded 16-year-old Francisco Javier Ortiz in his right arm and right leg.

Portland police have recently been ramping up patrols after two other shootings in crowded areas of the city last month, including a 14-year-old boy who died after he was shot on a street corner near Lloyd Center on April 18.
