PRAGUE (AP) — A soccer game between top Czech teams has been called off after more than 1,000 fans surged on the field and later tried to storm the club offices.

The referee abandoned the first leg of Thursday’s Czech Cup semifinal between Slavia and Olomouc at the half with the score 1-1.

The start of the game was delayed 20 minutes after Slavia fans streamed on the field. At halftime, riot police used force to prevent fans from entering the team’s stadium offices.

Slavia is one of the country’s oldest and most famous clubs. It owes its players part of their salaries and that could result in the team being relegated to a lower division.

Slavia is likely to be fined by its federation and could lose the game 3-0 as punishment.
