La Center to hold annual cleanup day Saturday

La Center residents are encouraged to dispose of nontoxic materials, yard debris, shredded paper and hazardous materials during the city’s annual “Clean-Up Day” Saturday.

The city will hold free events at three separate locations beginning at 9 a.m.

Residents will be able to dispose of nontoxic materials at Holley Park, 1000 E. Fourth St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers from Clark Public Utilities will collect yard debris on-site at the same times.

LeMay Mobile Shredding will shred old tax returns, credit card offers and other paper at City Hall, 214 E. Fourth St., from 10 a.m. to noon.

Hazardous materials will be disposed of at the fire station on 414 E. Cedar Drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Among the items that can be discarded are paint cans, Styrofoam, oil cans, motor oil and household batteries.
