The Skamania County Board of Commissioners has appointed Keith Chamberlain of Carson to serve on the Columbia River Gorge Commission. Chamberlain will serve the remaining portion of Walt Loehrke’s term, which expires in June 2012. Loehrke had represented Skamania County on the 12-member panel since 2000.

A former dairy owner, Chamberlain operates a residential rental and construction business in Carson. He is a former mayor of North Bonneville and a former member of the North Bonneville City Council, and also served on the boards of the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce and the Skamania County Economic Development Council.

There are six commissioners from Washington and six from Oregon on the panel.
