CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — A Washington state man has been arrested in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in rural Iowa.
The Linn County sheriff’s office says 32-year-old Jabari Walker, of Seattle, was being held Saturday in the Linn County jail on suspicion of first-degree kidnapping and third-degree sexual abuse. No attorney was listed for him, and there was no phone listing for Walker in Seattle.
The sheriff’s office says Walker abducted a 42-year-old woman at Coralville motel and drove to an abandoned Linn County farm, where he sexually assaulted her. Authorities were alerted to Walker’s vehicle at the property and, the sheriff’s office says, a deputy intervened in the assault.
The incident remains under investigation.
