With necessary permits in hand, Evergreen Public Schools will press forward to move or demolish remaining vacant homes on land where its Health and BioScience Academy is to be built.

The affected parcel is just north of the Southwest Washington Medical Center, partner in the new high school where construction begins this summer.

Monday evening, Evergreen district representatives will host a second community meeting to give an update and answer questions.

The meeting runs 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Marrion Elementary School, 10119 N.E. 14th St.

The Academy is expected to open in autumn 2013.

For questions: Sue Steinbrenner, Evergreen facilities director, 360-604-4077.
