Hudson’s Bay — The first Rotaract club in Clark County was chartered April 17 at Pearson Air Museum.
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young adults ages 18 to 30.
Twelve members were inducted by Rotary District 5100 District Governor Barbara Crozier. Rotaract President Dina Kroshkin is a 2010 graduate of Rotary’s week-long leadership training program “RYLA”—Rotary Youth Leadership Award.
After being inspired to serve her community, Kroshkin led the effort to found the first Rotaract club in Clark County. The club has been serving the Vancouver community since November 2010 while in the organizational stage. They volunteered with transitional youth, trying to help their peers get off the street and into healthier living situations and with the Stream Team on April 23 restoring wildlife and fish habitat, planting trees, removing trash and weeds, and stabilizing the river bank along the Salmon Creek Watershed.
Internationally, Clark County Rotaract is working on an international “WAPI” (water purification) clean water project in Africa.
