NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Reggie Bush says he was only joking when he posted a message on Twitter about enjoying opportunities to relax during the NFL lockout.

The Saints running back stirred up a number of his nearly 1.7 million Twitter followers when he posted messages saying that rather than complain about the lockout, he was making the most of it. He added that under normal circumstances, Saints players would be “slaving in 100 degree heat” and “putting our bodies at risk for nothing.”

After critical responses started pouring in, Bush wrote that he was only joking.

The posts come at a time when Bush’s future with the Saints is unclear. The Saints expect him to take a pay cut and also recently drafted Alabama running back Mark Ingram.
