STOCKHOLM (AP) — Swedish taekwondo champion Mohammed Qatanani has been suspended two years for doping and will miss the 2012 Olympics.

Swedish doping commission chairman Thore Brolin said Wednesday that the 22-year-old national champion tested positive for methylhexaneamine, a stimulant that is banned during competition.

Swedish Olympic Committee spokesman Bjorn Folin says Qatanani was taken out of its talent program in January after test results came back positive. The Swedish doping commission ruled on the case last month.

Qatanani blamed the positive test on a dietary supplement in an interview with Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet on Wednesday.
