ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels have placed right-hander Francisco Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list with an injured shoulder.
The Angels recalled right-hander Kevin Jepsen from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday to replace Rodriguez.
Rodriguez will get rest and rehabilitation for his shoulder after a recent increase in pain. He has a 4.61 ERA in 10 appearances for the Angels, who don’t know when he’ll be ready to pitch again.
Jepsen was a key member of the bullpen during the past two seasons, but struggled early this spring with a 6.75 ERA in his first five appearances. Los Angeles demoted him to the minors April 10.
