It could look disastrous. Fortunately, it’s not.
The Port of Portland is running a drill today to test its readiness to respond to a plane crash.
Police and fire agencies from multiple jurisdictions will practice their response to a crash and make sure their plan complies with Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
The test was scheduled to begin at about 12:30 p.m.
In a news release announcing the drill, the Port of Portland said practice exercises help strengthen communications between agencies.
