Clark County residents can recycle their clean block foam and old computers for free from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Yellow No. 1 parking lot at Clark College, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.

E-waste, which includes computers and other electronic devices, will be collected by Empower Up, a nonprofit organization that recycles electronics and offers free computer training. Empower Up prefers working electronic equipment that is no more than five years old, but broken and obsolete equipment will also be accepted.

Block foam packaging can be any color, but it must be clean and bagged or boxed. Empower Up cannot accept plastic-wrapped yellow urethane foam or spongy polypropylene foam, hot tub covers, packing peanuts, or foam with cardboard, tape or metal attached.

No televisions, computer monitors or microwave ovens can be accepted. For a list of free e-waste disposal sites that will accept old TVs, go to RecyclingA-Z.com.

After Saturday’s event, the free monthly block foam collection events in Vancouver will end. Instead, Empower Up will be offering regular block foam recycling collections, along with electronics recycling, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Suite F.
