STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Best known as a basketball school, Connecticut is getting a reputation for its prowess on the baseball diamond.

The Huskies (34-13-1) have won 26 of their last 30 games, are 18-3 in the Big East and need two wins in their final six conference games to clinch their first Big East regular-season title.

UConn, which plays Louisville this weekend, features two players likely to be top picks in the major league draft, outfielder George Springer and pitcher Matt Barnes, who is expected to start Friday night.
