The past was present Sunday in the Red Cross Building in Vancouver Barracks.
Models graced the stately auditorium in uniforms from wartime decades.
The tea and fashion show was an annual event of the Red Cross Youth Council, 19 students from around Clark County. Proceeds, about $2,000, go to Red Cross efforts.
“It was a lot of fun,” said Gabrielle Lucey, 18, a Union High School senior and secretary of the council.
She modeled three dresses: a circa 1938 yellow staff aide dress; a 1941 canteen dress, circa 1941; and a 1982 volunteer dress.
Council members learn five areas of service: health and safety; international relief; blood services; service to the Armed Forces; and disaster relief.
