TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Liz Cambage, the second pick in the WNBA draft, will miss the first few days of the Tulsa Shock’s training camp because of a problem with her visa.
Coach and general manager Nolan Richardson said when the Shock opened camp Sunday that the 6-foot-8 center from Australia should arrive by Wednesday.
Cambage averaged 13.6 points to lead Australia at the world championships.
Former Oklahoma State standout Andrea Riley, acquired in an offseason trade with Los Angeles, is expected to join practice within 10 days. She gave birth to a daughter in late March and has not been cleared to practice.
Richardson says Tulsa won’t rush her back.
The Shock play a preseason game May 29 at Seattle and open the regular season June 4 at San Antonio.
