BEND, Ore. (AP) — A central Oregon woman has been sentenced to six years in prison after she pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a crash last August near the town of Sisters that killed two of her friends.

KTVZ-TV in Bend reports that 23-year-old Stacia Roberts was sentenced Monday in Bend with the families of the two victims in the courtroom.

The crash killed 19-year-old Joshua Herrin and 18-year-old Nina Blackmore, who were riding in the back seat of her vehicle when Roberts apparently fell asleep at the wheel on Highway 20 near Black Butte Ranch.

Joshua Herrin’s mother, Jodi Hayward, told Roberts in court that even though she’s going to prison, she’ll get a chance to return to her life — unlike the victims.
