Kimberly Sherertz, widow of Barrett Business Services Inc. CEO William Sherertz, is seeking a seat on the company’s board under a proposal to expand it from six to nine members.

Sherertz made the request in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, proposing that the board add her and two executives with senior management that she would recommend. She was appointed sole representative of the estate of William Sherertz, 64, who died unexpectedly Jan. 20. The estate owns roughly 2.7 million shares, about 26 percent, of Barrett Business Services.

Sherertz, an administrator at Oregon Logistics Distribution Co., said the company and its shareholders would benefit from the addition of individuals with a “substantial ownership interest” in the company and “a wider variety of business experience.”
