JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) -- Nearly 4,000 soldiers with the 3rd Stryker Brigade from Joint Base Lewis-McChord are headed to the Yakima Training Center for live fire exercises this weekend and next week.
The Army says reporters in observation posts will be able to watch specially equipped Stryker vehicles fire anti-tank guided missiles at targets a mile-and-a-half away. Observers will also see how troops call in fire from howitzers and close air support from A10 Warthog planes.
