Police raid meth lab in Walla Walla motel

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — Police in raided a Walla Walla motel to get to a methamphetamine lab located in one of the rooms.

The Tri-City Herald reports that the raid happened Wednesday night after an investigation into the motel. One man — 56-year-old Clifford E. Chew — was arrested after trying to escape from the SWAT team.

Walla Walla Vineyard Inn’s manager was also arrested after officers found ammonia in her freezer. Ammonia is an ingredient in meth.

It wasn’t known who long the lab had been located in the motel.
