PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — One of the best-known political couples in Oregon say they are getting a divorce.
The Oregonian reports that Democratic U.S. Rep. Kurt Schrader and his wife, former state Sen. Martha Schrader, cited “irreconcilable differences” in a brief filing in Clackamas County.
The Schraders were married in 1975 and have four adult children. They did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
The newspaper said they spent much of their time apart since Kurt Schrader was elected to represent the Fifth District in 2008.
