C. Ore. county considers juvenile case prosecutor
Friday, May 20, 2011
BEND, Ore. (AP) -- Deschutes County has set aside money to hire a prosecutor to handle juvenile cases as soon as District Attorney Patrick Flaherty provides data on caseloads.
The Bulletin reports that county officials have unsuccessfully sought information on deputy district attorney casesloads since March, but Flaherty told a budget committee Wednesday he would provide that information.
According to county data, juvenile case filings declined 23 percent from 2005 to 2010.
