EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Investigators say a discarded cigarette is the likely cause of a two-alarm fire that caused $400,000 damage to an apartment building in Everett.

The city says the fire broke out just before 11 a.m. Friday and damaged four units in the building.

No one was injured.

The Red Cross is helping about a dozen people who have been displaced.
