PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland Police say a 38-year-old man was selling phony electronic products on eBay for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The Oregonian reports that 38-year-old Hung Truong was charged with first-degree trademark counterfeiting and pleaded not guilty on Friday. He was released.

Truong said outside of Multnomah County Circuit Court that questions “drove him crazy” and he “didn’t speak English too well.”

But investigators say that Truong sold a sophisticated operation, with fake packaging that could have fooled average customers. Police were tipped at his operation by Sony officials who spotted the sales on the Internet. Undercover police then made purchases that eventually led them to Truong.
