Portland authorities have located a missing man and his car submerged in the Columbia River.

The car and driver were found along Marine Drive near Northeast 122nd Avenue, east of Portland International Airport, according to Columbian news partner KATU-TV.

According to KGW-TV, a woman at the scene said she was looking for a stepson who had disappeared while on his way home around 4 a.m. today. His route would have taken him by the accident scene.

Broken glass and tire tracks leading off the road toward the river were visible, according to KGW.

A dive team was summoned and recovered the car’s license plate, which the woman said belonged to her stepson. The divers then searched the murky, swift water and found the body in the car.
